| This year I was on a quest to see all of the Best Picture nominees, but I still fell short of seeing them all. However, here are my... Top Four Favs: 1. The Help - My sentimental favorite. I saw this movie three times; first with my girlfriends, then with my grandmother, mother, and daughter (four generations!), and then again with my husband and everyone loved it. Such a wonderful, moving story with brilliant acting. 2. War Horse - Beautiful cinematography and touching story. 3. Midnight in Paris - As an artist or art lover - this one is a must see. What a wonderful thought to go back in time and visit with some of the greatest artist of our time! 4. The Artist - As someone who loves old movies - I absolutely love, loved this one. It was my favorite date night movie...very charming. So, who do you think will win? This painting was completed last year for The Virtual Paintout's location in Boston, MA. I fell in love with this old-fashioned sign and enjoyed painting it from an unusual perspective. I'm sure a lot of great movies were seen at the Paramount. |

Love this one Michelle! A favorite color scheme and lots and lots of depth looking toward the sky! Great job! As for the movies, THE HELP will be a favorite of mine for a long, long time. I am eager to see it again. WAR HORSE - no - too sad seeing the horses struggle only to die in most cases. I agree that the cinematography was wonderful. Hope to see your other favs soon!
Hi Rosemary, Thanks for stopping by. I totally agree with you. The War Horse did have a very tragic theme that made it difficult to watch at times, but The Help really stays with you.
Of those movies, I've only see The Help. But I loved it, and own a copy of the DVD. I do want to see the other three, they sound good. The painting is really great! That would be awesome hanging on the family room wall. I love the dramatic angle you chose.
That painting is amazing -- I love perspective! It reminds me of my favorite art class in grade school, when we were taught how to draw a room in perspective, and I filled an entire art pad with drawings.
I loved the book "The Help" but haven't seen the movie yet. I plan to, though, and that's odd for me since normally if I read a book I don't see the movie, but it got such good reviews and word of mouth I just have to!
